LAVRIS City Suites is a city hotel known for its privileged location, just 300 meters from the historic center of Heraklion. The idea of its creation was based on a single principle; to provide high-quality service to our distinguished guests, for either business trip or holidays.
The name LAVRIS was chosen for its symbolic meaning. It is the devotional double ax of the Minoan era. With respect to the oldest civilization in Europe, we have created this welcoming environment. The austere architecture, as well as a harmonious combination of colors, create an atmosphere of warmth and luxury. The seven spacious double and triple suites follow the same high standards and philosophy but with a distinctive concept each one. Designed with innovative vision and aesthetics, we create a quiet, discreet and sophisticated environment. All the suites are located on the 1st and 2nd floor and include Cocomat anatomic mattresses and cushions, satin cotton sheets, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, work desk, minibar, safe box, espresso machine and many other amenities and facilities. At the same time, all our guests enjoy a warm welcome with gifts from Cretan nature.
LAVRIS City Suites has free parking spots, direct access to central hubs, while by public transport or on foot, in a few minutes you are in the city center or the harbor.

The history behind the name
Lavris, in the Lydian or Caric language, possibly in the Minoan language too, means "double ax".
The double ax seems to be the most important between the symbols of the Minoan religion. It existed in Asia Minor. In the Minoan religious expression, the double ax was used in the following forms:
1. The devotional double ax. It is an evolution of the everyday use ax, but it differs because it is thinner and bigger. Many of the edges of the cult Minoan double ax grow in a semicircular shape and occupy the image of double-double ax.
2. The votive double-ax. It is smaller than the devotional.
3. The charm. Small axes made of gold, copper, and ivory had been used as "amulets". They had a hole in the post for hanging, and rescued in graves, as gifts to the deads.
Double axes, came from the cave of Arkalohori, from Agia Triada, Tylisos, Zakros, Knossos, Gournia, Palekastro and from the tombs of Platanos, Agia Triada, Knossos, and Fourni.
The dense appearance of the double axes in the palace of Knossos demonstrates the sanctity of the place, and the role of the Minoan King as the "Highest Priest". The word "Labyrinth" meant the sanctuary or the palace of the double axes, and perhaps it was the name for the palace of Knossos. Throughout the palace, the presence of the symbol is dense. Engraved double axes are identified in the pillars and in many stones- blocks of the original Minoan building.

CHECK-IN
Check-in starts from 14:30. If you intend to arrive later than 21:00, please inform us so we can make the necessary arrangements. In case there are ready for check-in rooms before 14:30, you will not be required to wait. For check-in, you need proof of identity. We accept passports or official ID cards with photo.
CHECK-OUT
Departure time is no later than 11:00. Please assure that you have your personal items and that your account has been settled. Guests who wish to extend their departure time are kindly requested to contact us at least a day before. Those wishing to leave between 11:30 and 18:00 are charged with 50% of the price of the room, while after 18:00 they are charged the full price of the room.
SMOKING
For the comfort and the safety of our guests and in accordance with Greek law, the anti-smoking policy is applied throughout the building. In case of noncompliance with the regulation, each offender is required to pay a fine to clean the area as provided for by law. There are smoke detectors in every room.
CLEANING SERVICE
In order to have room cleaning due to the Covid-19 hotel protocols and to avoid us disturbing you, please hang the cleaning card outside the door while leaving the room. Please note that if the cleaning card does not appear on your door, the room will not be cleaned. The cleaning service time is until 13.30. For hygienic reasons, it is forbidden to sleep directly on the mattress or bedding.
BREAKFAST
Cretan breakfast is served under request at a price of 20 euro per person and served in your room between 07.00 - 10.00.
ROOM OPERATION
Upon your arrival, you will be provided with a room entrance card, which also works as a power supply panel activation card, and the code for the main entrance.
The main entrance opens with a code which will be given to you upon arrival. The door for your room automatically opens by placing the card close to the keyboard. Place your key card in the special receptacle for access to power supply. For safety reasons, the entrance is not allowed for food delivery or other services. Please use the furniture with care and avoid any damages.
VALUABLE ITEMS
For the money and other valuable items use the safe deposit box in the closet of your room. We inform you that based on the law, the hotel does not take responsibility in case of loss, theft or damage to your luggage and your personal items inside our areas. Storage or use of guns, drugs and other controlled substances is strictly forbidden by the Greek law. We are obligated to inform the authorities of any violations of the law and to immediately terminate your stay. Customers may be required to dispose of materials and substances that may be considered hazardous, inconvenient or threatening to other customers in the hotel.
LUGGAGE STORAGE
The hotel has a luggage storage room for guests who need temporary storage.

The device is equipped with local, national range and satellite channels.
COFFEE MACHINE
The coffee machine gives you the opportunity to enjoy a great espresso coffee at a minimum of time. There are coffee capsules and milk provided free.
INTERNET
We offer free fast Wi-Fi in all rooms and public areas.
POWER SUPPLY
Power is 220 Volts. Do not use electrical devices of 110 Volts without a converter.
PAYMENT METHODS
The following credit cards can be used for transactions with the hotel: VISA, VISA ELECTRON, MASTERCARD, MAESTRO, and UnionPay. We accept only Euro as cash. Payment must be made prior to your arrival. LAVRIS City Suites will not compensate if clients do not abide by the rules of the hotel. There are no refunds in case of early departure. If you wish to cancel or transfer a confirmed booking to a future date, you will be issued a coupon in your name with the amount credited, valid for 6 months, depending on availability.
PARKING
There will be place at your disposal in the open parking lot in front of the hotel.
VISITORS
Visitors are allowed, however, you are responsible for their behavior and compliance with hotel rules. Unaccompanied visitors are prohibited at all times. Visitors or friends are not allowed in the hotel during leisure hours. If a visitor wishes to stay overnight, regular charges will apply depending on space availability.
ANIMAL POLICY
As much as we love them, we, unfortunately, cannot accept pets in the areas of the hotel, as guests might have allergies.
